Jeffree Star Blow Pony Hand Mirror Review

Jeffree Star Blow Pony Hand Mirror Review

Jeffree Star has more than a few accessories along with his makeup line. One of those things is hand mirrors. I’ve sadly been missing mine since I broke my old Lime Crime mirror. So I decided to invest in one.

I bought mine from Beauty Bay, his UK supplier as shipping from this website is very expensive to the UK and does not come with customs charges covered either. It cost me £22 and postage (the UK term for shipping) was free as it is over £15.

Jeffree-Star-Mirror-Box

This is the box it comes in. It’s Jeffree’s signature pink log and a shiny pink box.

Jeffree-Star-Blow-Blow-Pony-Mirror-Back

The mirror is securely packaged in a foam surround, to prevent it from breaking in the post. As you can see I chose the Blow Pony Mirror as I am a sucker for purple.

Jeffree-Star-Blow-Pony-Mirror-Side

It’s 11.5 inches long in total, which means it’s definitely big enough to see your whole face. The head of the mirror is, of course, heavier than the handle which makes it feel a little unbalanced to me. Jeffree’s website describes it as mid balanced but I really feel like for this one it’s definitely heavier at the top. It is not heavy though and will be comfortable to hold while you do your makeup.

I really like this mirror for doing my makeup and I don’t think it’s too expensive for the quality. I have actually dropped this and it’s survived without a scratch. It was on a hard floor too.

If you’d like one, you can get yours for £22 at Beauty Bay.

Wizarding World Harry Potter Colour Changing Lipsticks

Wizarding World Harry Potter Colour Changing Lipsticks

The Harry Potter colour changing lipsticks are £10 from Boots. They’re part of the Christmas 3 for 2 promotion. They are cruelty-free but not vegan. They have a 12-month shelf life once opened.

There is, of course, one for each of the houses, the bullet matching the house colour. They don’t go on the lips the same colour as in the bullet. They all shift slightly different shade of pink.

They’re also quite sheer, so how visible the difference on your lips is going to depend on how pigmented your lips are. I found the texture of these to be kind of waxy but given they’re really only £2.50 each it’s not an issue.

The only identifier on these of the house is the bullet and the lid. All that is a print on the side. It’s not a very sleek design, in fact, it’s very cheap. They’re okay for the price but unless you’re a fan of sheer pink lipstick then I’d pass.

If you’d like yours they’re available exclusively at Boots.

Jeffree Star Pinks – Virginity, 714, Queen Supreme, Prom Night and Masochist

Jeffree-Star-Virginity-714-Queen-Supreme-Prom-Night-Masochist

I love the formula of Jeffree Star’s Velour liquid lipsticks. I still feel they’re some of the best formulas on the market. They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website.

I find all of these long-lasting, not drying at all and doesn’t emphasise my lip texture. I really love these. I think they’re well worth the cost. Today we’re looking at five shades, Masochist, 714, Virginity, Prom Knight and Queen Supreme.

Jeffree-Star-Masochist-Swatch

Masochist is a beautiful cool-toned dark pink. It’s one of my favourite colours. I have no smudging or bleeding issues with this one.

Jeffree-Star-714-Swatch

714 is a very light peach shade. I do not like this one on me. It doesn’t have coverage issues and stays put really well.

Jeffree-Star-Virginity-Swatch

Virginity is very light pink. This has some issues with coverage and is far too light for me.

Jeffree-Star-Prom-Night-Swatch

Prom Knight is bright hot pink. I adore this colour so much. it’s cool undertone too and doesn’t smudge or bleed. It also has no coverage issues.

Jeffree-Star-Queen-Supreme-Swatch

Queen Supreme is a neon pastel pink. While I’m not a fan of this colour on me, it is a great colour with no coverage issues. It also doesn’t bleed or budge.

They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website. Shipping costs from $8 and increases with the package size. It does not include customs charges so expect an extra £8 and 20% on top of the cost.

Revolution Pro Mischief Mattes Palette – First Impressions and Festival Face

Meet the Regeneration Trends Mischief Mattes Palette from Revolution Pro. It costs only £8 for this collection of bright mattes.

Revolution-Pro-Regeneration-Trends-Mischief-Mattes-Swatches

As you can see from above it swatches very well. In practice, I had a little more trouble with the greens showing up as you can tell from the video.

Overall, as I have played with it more since making the video I do like this palette for the price. Worth getting it for festivals and bright colourful look.

Jeffree Star Deep Cools – Weirdo, Abused, Blue Velvet, Dirty Money & Mistletoe – Review & Swatches

Jeffree Star Deep Cools – Weirdo, Abused, Blue Velvet, Dirty Money & Mistletoe – Review & Swatches

Jeffree-Star-Werido-Abused-Blue-Velvet-Dirty-Money-Mistletoe

I love the formula of Jeffree Star’s Velour liquid lipsticks. I still feel they’re some of the best formulas on the market. They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website.

I find all of these long-lasting, very comfortable to wear and they don’t overemphasise my lip texture. I do think these are well worth the cost. Today we’re looking at 5 of the more unusual shades, Mistletoe, Dirty Money, Blue Velvet, Abused and Weirdo.

Jeffree-Star-Mistletoe-Swatch

Mistletoe was a limited edition shade which is a primary green colour. This one has great coverage as you can see. It was perfect for the Christmas season

Jeffree-Star-Dirty-Money-Swatch

Dirty Money was one of the first shades and it’s a dirty green colour. If you’re American it’s apparently the same colour as money. I really like this shade on me.

Jeffree-Star-Blue-Velvet-Swatch

Blue Velvet is a bright primary blue. I adore this shade. It has little coverage issues and doesn’t really smudge.

Jeffree-Star-Abused-Swatch

Abused is one of the more controversial shades. It’s a navy blue and could be considered the colour of a bruise. This is not the only reason it’s controversial though. It smells like aniseed and apparently, there is a bruise cream in America that smells like it. Again I like this shade as it’s on the deeper end when black is too much.

Jeffree-Star-Werido-Swatch

Speaking of black meet Weirdo. Despite the picture showing it as shiny (I clearly didn’t let it dry long enough) it’s not. It’s matte black. My little Goth heart loves this shade. It doesn’t smudge or budge.

They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website. Shipping costs from $8 and increases with the package size. It does not include customs charges so expect an extra £8 and 20% on top of the cost.

This one is actually just called the Multi Liner. There are three eyeliners in black, brown and nude. There’s also a lip liner in this one that’s also in nude. It’s also really good for doing your eyebrows too.
It’s a perfect multi-liner with so many uses.

Its lightweight design makes it the perfect travel companion, ideal for on the go or those who don’t have much space. Why carry one liner when you have four to choose from?

Brights

The brights liner has four different shades, a Blue, Silver, Purple and Teal.
I find these to be very easy to apply and long-wearing. The silver isn’t very opaque and I’m using it more as a base than a liner.
The others though are pretty solid colours.

One compact retractable style pen featuring four vibrant shades of eyeliner. Click and twist to reveal the colours Blue, Purple, Teal and Silver. A smooth crayon formula that allows you to effortlessly line your eyes and make your eyes pop!

Its lightweight design makes it the perfect travel companion, ideal for on the go or those who don’t have much space. Why carry one eyeliner when you have four to choose from?

I like both of these. I like the Multi Liner more just due to the multiple uses it has.

How to KonMari your clothes even if you’ve put on some weight

How to KonMari your clothes even if you’ve put on some weight

Just like a lot of people I do recommend the Konmari method for decluttering your life. I like it because unlike most other methods it’s about not what you’re getting rid of but rather what you’re keeping (which is something I noticed a lot of people seem to miss). So if you’ve seen the show and got the book but maybe haven’t read it yet or have and are just at a stop I’ve got some advice for you.

Komari-Clothes-Pixabay

Konmari has an order to declutter your life and it starts with clothes. I often wonder if she started here because she has never had a weight issue. I wonder if it’s a cultural thing because I know for a lot of us clothes come with much deeper issues than can be found in later categories.

I see the question about weight gain and Konmari a lot on forums about decluttering. Asking about what to do when clothes no longer spark joy because you’ve put on weight or you’re worried about that maybe the only clothes that’ll spark joy are the ones that don’t fit.

So if you’re hitting that emotional or metal wall before starting or staring at a pile of clothes I want you to stop for a second and just breathe. One of the things Marie does is greet the home if you’ve not done it do it now.

Now if you don’t have the pile and you’ve not finished the book, I’d do that and if you have time pick up Spark Joy, do that too. It is more instructional but does answer some of the questions you have. If you do have the pile, you can, of course, stop and pick up the second book but you might have to sleep elsewhere, which is perfectly fine.

Visualisation is a really important part of this process. There’s a lot of science behind how this is a good thing, it’s like psyching yourself up before a game. So there’s a couple of things you can do in your head first. Thank the entire pile because we’re lucky to be able to afford all of that and to live in the way we do. Then imagine it all back in place after you’ve decluttered. Imagine your drawers, your hanging space, image how easy life is being able to just find things. Imagine running your hands over the folded clothes and finding that top you love really easily. Imagine putting on clothes you like all the time. The feel of the fabric, how good you look and how nice you feel.

If you’re ready to start, go for it. If not, don’t panic, I have more advice.

The next thing to remember is it’s totally okay to get emotional on this journey. Cry, scream, sulk, it’s all okay no matter your age or gender. It’s time to let it all out and as a result, let it go.

The other thing is this is about what you’re keeping which I know I’ve said once but I think it bears repeating. If there is something you really love, keep it. Even if it’s old, broken or doesn’t fit but you find it sparks joy, keep it. There’s no shame in keeping things. This is about keeping the right things for you.

Now if you’re still worried and struggling with the clothes that don’t fit and are not sure what to do, I have three final suggestions. You can keep them and move on. There is no shame at all in coming back to your clothes for another look once you have done everything else. Most people do and by then we’ve all got a better sense of what sparks joy. The next is to make yourself a capsule wardrobe of items that don’t fit. That way when you lose the weight you still have something to wear and it’ll take up less space in the meantime. The last is to just get rid of them now. Just bag them up to go and let them go. Unless there is a serious piece you have an emotional attachment, keep that and get rid of the rest. This is the best option. Do not hold onto things that don’t give you joy, just in case.

So there are a few tips I’ve found on Konmari’ing my clothes after a weight gain. I hope you found this helpful! Let me know any tips you have in the comments below.
