Collection Velvet Kiss in Wonderland and Rosie Review & Swatch

Collection Velvet Kiss in Wonderland and Rosie Review & Swatch

Collection cosmetics is one of my favourite brands. Cruelty-free and on the high street with good prices, what’s not to love? Recently I needed to get some more of their glitter liners (post coming soon).

Meet the Velvet Kiss range. I recently picked up two of these colours. They cost £2.99 online or from your local high street stockist.

Now while they are semi-matte, they are not long wearing. So they will need to be reapplied but that does mean they are not at all drying.

Collection-Velvet-Kiss-Swatch-Wonderland

Wonderland is the first swatch and as you can see it pulls very pink on me. The bottle is very coral. It’s got good coverage and is nice and matte.

The other colour I picked was Rosey.  It’s a blue based red, so better for cooler skin tones. This one didn’t go quite as matte. It’s also pretty opaque on me.

Overall I like these very much. They’re cheap and do a fantastic job for the price. I like them very much and if they were vegan I’d have picked up more. Sadly they’re not so I’ll have to do with these.

Revolution Metallic Lip Kit – We Rule Review & Swatch

Revolution Metallic Lip Kit – We Rule Review & Swatch

Revolution-Metallic-Lip-Kit-We-Rule-600

The Revolution Beauty Lip Kits costs £6 from Revolution or your local stockist. The We Rule kit contains a lip gloss and matching liner in rose gold.

The lip liner is of standard size but only has a 3 month self life. Given how long my other liners last with constant use I find this a little short. It’s also not vegan making these sets not vegan either. The lip gloss contains 5.5 ml of product with a 12 month shelf life.

This is a pretty little kit and I really love the colour of this. The gloss itself is fairly long wearing for a gloss and with the lip liner it’s even longer.

So let’s quickly talk about what I was expecting and what I got.

  • I was expecting a matte liner and instead it’s metalic shine. It’s also quite sticky on it’s own, so not something you could wear alone.
  • I was not expecting a gloss. I was expecting a matte lipstick that dries down to a metallic finish. It’s also not very opaque.

In the end the lipgloss over the liner looks really good. The gloss isn’t heavy or sticky. They are the perfect pair. I do like this kit and if you’re looking for rose gold lips they;’ve got you covered here.

Available from Revolution Beauty or Superdrug for £6.

Jeffree Star Lip Velour in Unicorn Blood, Hoe Hoe Hoe and Anna Nicole Review

Jeffree Star Lip Velour in Unicorn Blood, Hoe Hoe Hoe and Anna Nicole Review

I love the formula of Jeffree Star’s Velour liquid lipsticks. I still feel they’re some of the best formulas on the market. They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website.

I find all of these long-lasting, not drying at all and doesn’t emphasise my lip texture. I really love these. I think they’re well worth the cost. Today we’re looking at three shades, Unicorn Blood, Hoe Hoe Hoe and Anna Nicole.

Unicorn blood is the first and it’s a deep blood red. I find it doesn’t feather and stays well on the lips with minimal smudging. I do find it does budge a little on cups. I love the deep colour of this and intend to repurchase this soon.

Hoe Hoe Hoe was a limited edition colour. Sadly no longer available since it is one of my favourites. This one is a lot cooler in tone and a lot brighter. It’s also got these amazing blue sparkles in it that you start to see coming through the longer you wear it.

Anna Nicole is a red based orange. It’s a great shade for Autumn and again has not smudging issues. It’s a bold colour but I love it.

They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website. Shipping costs from $8 and increases with the package size. It does not include customs charges so expect an extra £8 and 20% on top of the cost.

Sugarpill x Kim Chi Liquid Lipstick Review and Swatches

Sugarpill x Kim Chi Liquid Lipstick Review and Swatches

Sugarpill-Kim-Chi-Liquid-Lipstick

Kim Chi is a matte lavender mauve with a unique hint of transparent aqua and violet sparkles. It also smells like doughnuts. It’s so pretty but really not for me.

Sugarpill-Kim-Chi-Liquid-Lipstick-Swatch

It is a pastel shade and really washes me out. As you can see it pulls really pastel grey on me, very different to online swatches. The glitter really does begin to show through when you’ve been wearing it for a while.

I did a first impressions review on youtube if you’d like to check that out check the video below. I do still really like it but tastes do change and for me, it’s just not something I’ll get again.

It costs £14.95 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Sugarpill Direct.

MAC Creamsheen Lipstick in Ravishing Review & Swatch

MAC Creamsheen Lipstick in Ravishing Review & Swatch

MAC cosmetics have some of my favourite lipstick formulas. The Creamsheen range is the sheer coverage formula of their lipsticks and it is as the name suggests very creamy. These lipsticks aren’t going to give you a strong colour but more of a subtle look. it’s something I need more of in my collection.

MAC-Creamsheen-Ravishing-Swatch

Ravishing is a light peach with coral undertones. It’ll, of course, look different on you depending on your skin tone due to the fact it’s sheer. I really like this one, while bold lips and eyes are something I do often sometimes it is nice to tone it down.

It costs £17.50 from your local MAC counter or online. Don’t forget MAC does back to MAC, where you can take five empty products and get a free lipstick. It’s a great recycling scheme.

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait in Racoon

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait in Racoon

Meet Raccoon from Trifle Cosmetics. Let’s first address the elephant Raccoon in the room. A lipstick called Raccoon? Yeah, I am not personally fond of it but the name isn’t the end of the world. Let’s move on to what I do like about this lipstick.

Trifle-Cosmetics-Lip-Parfait-Raccoon

That’s pretty much everything. It’s a lovely shade of fuschia in a creme finish. It is very opaque and is nice a comfortable. I love the packaging. It’s very cute and I like the fact it is mostly cardboard, much better for the environment. That might mean it gets damaged easier but if you have a lipstick case pop it in there and it’s protected.

Trifle-Cosmetics-Lip_Parfait-Raccoon-Swatch

It won’t last over the course of a meal and it won’t last all day but it is a cream lipstick so I didn’t expect it too.

It costs $18.95 (I can’t find UK suppliers, please comment below if you know of one) from TriffleCosmetics.com. With no UK suppliers and postage costing $24.95 (like seriously WTF), I won’t be purchasing more from this range but it was lovely to try.
