Beautiful Darkness is the Vegan palette from the Halloween range for 2018. It contains a set of 12 deep colours perfect for creating your Halloween night look.

You can get yours from Revolution Beauty or Superdrug for £6. There’s 12 shadows, 4 of which are shimmers and the rest mattes.  2 larger shades at 1.8g each and 10 at 1.5g each. The palette has a 12-month expiry date once opened.

I love the box, which is why it’s pictured on the right. I also love the fact it’s not matte black when you take it out of the box, it’s burgundy so easy to spot amongst your other Revolution palettes.

There are two larger shades that are lighter, so great for setting your shadows is you’re of a lighter skin tone. There’s also a green shift shimmer, which is very much like Creep from the Obsession Be Very Afraid palette. I can’t you how much I love this shade. It really makes a look pop. All of these are lightly grey toned, so perfect for Halloween.

The Haunted Halloween 2018 collection from Revolution Beauty keeps on coming with a set of 5 lipsticks. Each cost £4, have 3.2g of product and a 12-month shelf life.

I love the packaging on these The white skulls and red flowers are on a sticker, but in a way that’s a good thing. Once it starts getting scuffed you’ll be able to remove it. The small pot of colour at the end also makes each colour easy to spot in your collection.

 

Each colour also has a super cute skull cut into the bullet.

 

I mean how cute is that?

So let’s go onto the colours themselves because as much as obsessing over packaging is fun what we really want is good colours that work right?

• Sinister Seduction – coral light pink
• Corpse Bride – purple toned pink
• Blood Lust – blue based red
• Vampire’s Thrust – berry toned red
• Captivating Curse –  black

They’re all described as matte shades and I personally don’ t think that’s true. They’re more satin finish, excluding the black, which has definite shine. Unsurprisingly the lighter shades have better and more opaque coverage. Captivating Curse is not opaque and that was the best swatch I could get without a liner underneath. So I’d definitely advise liner underneath for a fully black lip.

They’re not bad, in fact, they’re great for the price. Revolution does better lipsticks for this price point but for a cheap Halloween lipstick, they’re still good. I’ll probably be passing on Vampire’s Thurst and Captivating Curse but the others I’ll wear.

Haunted Lights is the newest version of the Halloween highlighter from Revolution beauty. It’s available at Revolution Beauty and Superdrug for £4 each. It has g and has a 12-month shelf life.

As you can see it’s the same design as last year but this time the undertone of the highlighter is different. It’s green this year. It’s still got the white cast to this so if you’re of a deeper skin tone this might not be for you.

I think that’s much more Halloween appropriate. Great for that witchy highlight or other spooky monsters.

You can’t really see it in the swatch but there are microfine bits of glitter in this highlighter as there was last year. So if you’re not into glittery highlighter this might not be for you. However they don’t tend to fall onto the face, so that’s a plus.

When you first get it there is a top layer, possibly from the pressing that means you might not get quite a strong highlight like the one in my swatch. If you rub that away you can then glow greater than the gods to your heart’s content.

It’s the month of Halloween. Yes, the month of Halloween and it’s time to get your spook on. Obsession has got you covered this year with a couple of rather lovely palettes.

They cost £5 each and are available from Revolution Beauty or Boots. They both have 8 x 1.6g of product and have 6 different eyeshadows and 2 pressed glitters. Both are also Vegan.

If In Doubt Be A Unicorn

The Unicorn trend refuses to die here and I’m very much okay with that. This particular palette boasts holographic lettering on the front and some pretty pastel colours on the inside, all in a purple box.

All the colours are pigmented and blendable. The glitters are also brilliant but you need to either apply them with a finger or sponge tip applicator.

The only downside is some of them are very similar on the eye. Alternative and Entranced can get lost if you blend a little too much and Eternal and Magic dust can dupe one another.

I like this palette, it’s a pretty pastel palette with lovely shades. It is however not a one and done palette. You’re definitely going to need something to team with this for a finished look. There are not enough deep colours for a finished look but as a compliment, I think it’s perfect.

Be Very Afraid

Much more of a Halloween toned palette is the Be Very Afraid Palette. It’s got some lovely blood red foil letters on the top.

As with the Unicorn palette the colours are pigmented and blendable. The glitters are also brilliant but you need to either apply them with a finger or sponge tip applicator.

This one has a nice spread of colours that are really godo for a sunken eye look for even a full on glam look. Vampire or zombie, you’re very covered here.

• Corrupt – Matte Black

This one is a definitely one and done palette. There’s quite a combination of looks that can be done with this palette and actually it’s a really good complient to it’s sister.

Of the two, I prefer the Be Very Afraid Palette. It’s much more the tone of the season. If you’d like to get one they’re £5 at Revolution Beauty or Boots.
