Wizarding World Harry Potter Hogwarts House Handcream

Wizarding World Harry Potter Hogwarts House Handcream

The Harry Potter Hogwarts House Handcream set is £10 from Boots. It’s part of the Boots 3 for 2 offer. It’s cruelty-free but not vegan. There’s 75 ml of product in each and has a 24-month shelf life once opened.

There’s not a lot to say about these hand creams. They sink in well and make my hands feel soft. For hand creams they’re great.
I like the design on these. It’s very simple but classic and I like it very much. These are something I’d be quite happy to pull out of my handbag.

Each of the creams has a slightly different scent.

  • Gryffindor – Bergamot, Lime and Verbena
  • Slytherin – Bergamot and Jupiter
  • Ravenclaw – Tuberose, Jasmin and Rose
  • Hufflepuff – Grapefruit, Lemon and Orange

These scents are pleasant but not overpowering.

They’re well worth it for keeping your hand moisturised for the next year.

If you like to get a set they’re available at Boots for £10.

I Heart Revolution Violet Chocolate Palette Review & Swatches

I Heart Revolution Violet Chocolate Palette Review & Swatches

Let’s say hello to the Violet Chocolate Palette from I Heart Revolution. It costs £8.99 from Revolution Beauty online or instore at your local Superdrug.

I-Heart-Revolution-Violet-Chocolate-Palette

I bought this palette back when it was first released, so I’ve had a little time to play with it and really work out if I like it or not.

I-Heart-Revolution-Chocolate-Violet-Palette-Inside-600

As you can see it swatches beautifully as Revolution always does. Good swatches though is not always an indication of a good palette however in this case it is. The shades are nicely pigmented and blend well.

I-Heart-Revolution-Violet-Chocolate-Palette-Swatch

There’s a nice even spread of colours in this palette to create an almost unlimited variation of looks. While perhaps personally  I’d like to have seen a couple of contrasting colours, this palette is great if you’re unsure of purples. It’s great even if you are a lover of purples too! You can do a neutral eye with a pop of purple or a full on purple eye should you chose to.

It’s also pretty good for both the warm and cooler skinned toned amongst us, having both of those tones in here. It’s a very versatile palette and I really like it.

Get yours at Revolution Beauty for only £8.99.

Revolution Conceal & Correct Green Review

Revolution Conceal & Correct Green Review

Revolution-Conceal-And-Correct-Green

The Conceal and Define range of concealers from Revolution Beauty recently expanded to include colour correctors. They launched 3 colours, Orange, Banana and Green for the 3 most common issues. They cost exactly the same as the original line £3 and contain the same amount of product (4ml).

Revolution-Conceal-Correct-Green-Swatch

It’s exactly the same formula as the Conceal and Define, so it therefore sets. You do need to blend this out fairly fast. It’s also very pigmented so you might need to mix this with a skin toned concealer if the green is showing through. However, because it is so pigmented it does its job brilliantly.

It’s also really useful for mixing with the neutral shades if you’re olive. Mix it with a deeper shade should you need to for the perfect colour match. It is white based so may not suit all depths.

I would like to see further releases in this line, specifically purple and blue. Purple for brightening and blue for correcting yellow/creating olive tones.

Other than that I really like this.

Also if you really love this formula Revolution has now announced that there will be larger sizes of the Conceal and Define range available soon, including a foundation. How exciting is that?

Lime Crime Metallic Velvetines in Mercury, Seashell Bra and Blonde Review & Swatches

Lime Crime Metallic Velvetines in Mercury, Seashell Bra and Blonde Review & Swatches

Lime Crime does liquid lipsticks very well and the metallic versions are no exception. They cost £16 each from UK Suppliers or $20 USD from Lime Crime. If you’re in the UK, I’d definitely skip the Lime Crime website. Shipping now varies from $10.95 to $44.95 depending on what you buy.

Lime-Crime-Mercury-Seashell-Bra-Blonde

Blonde is described as a Rose Gold Metallic. It’s slightly pinker and lighter than what I’d consider rose gold. It has no coverage or smudging issues.

Lime-Crime-Metallic-Velvetines-Swatch-Blonde

Seashell Bra was part of the Mermaids collection release and is unfortunately no longer on the Lime Crime website but you might be able to find it on UK suppliers. It’s a metallic lavender finish with microfine blue glitter. Again no coverage or transfer issues.

Lime-Crime-Metallic-Velvetine-Swatch-Seashell-Bra

Mercury is described as metallic mauve and I’d say it’s pretty true to that on me. Again no coverage or smudging issues.

Lime-Crime-Metallic-Velvetine-Swatch-Mercury

I love the formula of the metallic liquid lipsticks, they are long wearing but not as much as the regular formula. They aren’t drying at all and fairly easy to remove.

They cost £16 each from UK Suppliers or $20 USD from Lime Crime. If you’re in the UK, I’d definitely skip the Lime Crime website. Shipping is now $20.95.

Illamasqua Lipstick in Atomic Review & Swatch

Illamasqua Lipstick in Atomic Review & Swatch

Illamasqua has become an iconic British brand. Their lipsticks cost £20 each and can be purchased on their online store or at the Selfridges counter.

Illamasqua-Lipstick-Atomic-Swatch

Atomic is described as a Fushia Violet. it’s a matte lipstick with a slight sheen of violet in it. It’s really dry and hard to apply. You can’t really apply it straight from the bullet and expect to get a clean edge. It really needs warming up on the back of your hand and is best applied with a lip brush. The fact it’s drier than most does mean it lasts longer and while it might be dry to apply it does not cause your lips to feel dry during its wear.

I do like this lipstick. The violet shift isn’t particularly obvious on the lips and the wear time is good. I am just not fond of the application issues. I much prefer to be able to apply my lipstick from the bullet.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Jeffree Star Nudes – Celebrity Skin, Posh Spice, Androgyny, Scorpio and Dominatrix Review & Swatches

Jeffree Star Nudes – Celebrity Skin, Posh Spice, Androgyny, Scorpio and Dominatrix Review & Swatches

Jeffree-Star-Celebrity-Skin-Posh-Spice-Androgyny-Scorpio-Dominatrix

I love the formula of Jeffree Star’s Velour liquid lipsticks. I still feel they’re some of the best formulas on the market. They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website.

I find all of these long-lasting, very comfortable to wear and they don’t overemphasise my lip texture. I do think these are well worth the cost. Today we’re looking at 5 of the more nude shades, Celebrity skin, Posh Spice, Androgyny, Scorpio and Dominatrix.

Jeffree-Star-all

Celebrity Skin is a pinky nude on me. He calls it a soft brown with a peach undertone and I can totally see it. I like this as a nude on me.

Jeffree-Star-Celebrity-Skin-Swatch

Next up os Posh Spice. This is your griege shade with a hint of taupe. I like it but the grey bit seems to get lost on me. I like this for when I want a lipstick that makes me look dead on the outside too.

Jeffree-Star-Posh-Spice-Swatch

Androgyny is the shade of my dreams. Slightly grey, slightly plum and suits me so well. I adore this colour.

Jeffree-Star-Androgyny-Swatch

Scorpio is a grey-toned purple that I love. I have a few issues with coverage with this colour as you can see but I do love it. A second layer clears that up but does make it a little bit drying.

Jeffree-Star-Scorpio-Swatch

Dominatrix is a deep chocolate brown. It’s a stunning colour on the lips. Dark but warm for when you need a dark colour that isn’t black. I found this one to be a little dryer in the formula but not on the lips.

Jeffree-Star-Dominatrix-Swatch

They cost £16 from UK Suppliers or $18 from Jeffree’s website. Shipping costs from $8 and increases with the package size. It does not include customs charges so expect an extra £8 and 20% on top of the cost.

Revolution Beauty Halloween Haunted Collection Liquid Skull Highlighters Review & Swatches – Paranormal, Lover’s Wrath, Envy & Blood of my Enemies

Revolution Beauty Halloween Haunted Collection Liquid Skull Highlighters Review & Swatches – Paranormal, Lover’s Wrath, Envy & Blood of my Enemies

Part of the 2018 Haunted Halloween range from Revolution Beauty is a set of 4 liquid highlighters in skull-shaped bottles. They cost £5 each and have 13ml with a 12-month shelf life.

Revolution-Liquid-Skull-Halloween-Highlighters-600

Quite frankly I bought these for the bottle because LOOK AT IT. OMG, it’s so cute!

Revolution-Halloween-Skull-Highlighter-Bottle

Okay so you and I might have different ideas of cute but I think it’s awesome. I might not be a fan of liquid highlighters but I had to get all of these.

There’s 4 of them. Before we get started there’s a little dropper to get the liquid out. It’s not my favourite but you don’t need much to get a good splash of highlighter.Revolution-Halloween-Liquid-Highlighter-Dropper

Blood of my Enemies is described as a red shimmer and that’s very accurate.

Envy is described as a white highlight with a green shift. That’s very accurate.

Lover’s Wrath is described as an icy white with a purple-pink undertone. In real life, you can see the pink more than the purple in it.

Paranormal is described as an icy white, even though it has more of a slight golden tint.

Revolution-Halloween-Liquid-Highlighters-Skull-Swatches

They’re all very pretty. These are quite glittery, so if you’re not into that these might not be for you. My favourite is, of course, the green.

Now if you’re into liquid highlighters and ones with fine glitter you’re going to love these. However, I’m not and I don’t love them. Yes, I’ll use them but you might just want to pick your favourite colour.

One last thing to note is that Blood of my Enemies does stain the skin. Now that’s not Revolution-Halloween-Stainingreally an issue unless you’re going bare-faced the next day. It’s worth being aware of though. It was only on my arm to take the picture so the stain might be worse if you wear it all night.

If you’d like one of these they’re available at Revolution Beauty and Superdrug for £5 each.
