Who loves salted caramel?
Revolution brings you the best salted caramel recipe. There is no better combination than these 16 shimmer and matte addictive shades. From delicious nudes to tempting pinks to bring you salt and sweet at the same time.

It’s sweet, it’s buttery, it’s salted caramel goodness.

I-Heart-Revolution-Salted-Caramel-Chocolate-Palette-Inside

As you can see this is also one of the older palettes from the inside design. There are two fewer shades than you get in the newer palettes because there are two large highlight shades. Great if you’re of lighter skin tone, the reverse if you’re not. The names are also on a plastic sheet rather than the packaging itself.
As a result, it’s the older formula, that means while it’s still good it’s not as good as the newer palettes. They’re a little drier and harder to blend but they’re by no means unworkable. They’re more like your regular highstreet shadows.

It’s a good range of colours if you’re into the range of brown neutral tones again. There are two pops of colour. One more of a navy blue and one pink. They’re both shimmer shades, although it’s more obvious in the pink. This one mostly contains matte shades with only 6 shimmers overall.

If you’d like this one on its own it’s available at Revolution Beauty for £9

I-Heart-Revolution-Lemon-Drizzle-Chocolate-Palette

I Heart Revolution Lemon Drizzle Chocolate Palette will make your mouth water with a yummy combination of 18 refreshing shades. This sweet-scented mixture of 10 yellow, brown, red and nude mattes and 8 warm metallics makes creating playful makeup looks a piece of cake.

I-Heart-Revolution-Lemon-Drizzle-Chocolate-Palette-Inside

It’s a collection of warm-toned yellows and oranges with a combination of matte and 8 shimmer shades. There’s only one real cool tone shade and that’s delicious. It’s a little out of place but you can certainly make it work.

I-Heart-Revolution-Lemon-Drizzle-Chocolate-Palette-Swatches

These swatch well on the arm and go well on the eye too. There are enough deeper shades to do a nice brown smokey eye.

One thing to note is Fluffy and Tangy, which are both shimmer shades are very similar when you swatch them. One they eye they look nearly identical which is a shame.

I do like this palette, so if you’d like it you can get it separately to the set for £9.

The outside has lovely white chocolate drips on, which makes it easy to find in your Chocolate palette collection.

I-Heart-Revolution-Smores-Chocolate-Palette-Inside

The inside is full of warmer tones in neutral colours. There’s a nice mixture of matte and shimmers in here for that perfect brown smokey eye. The mattes blend well and the shimmers look amazing when they’re foiled.

I-Heart-Revolution-Chocolate-Smores-Palette-Swatches

It’s a particularly good palette if you’re fond of the neutral brown eye look. It’s got just enough foil shades to take it from day to night.

I like this palette and it’s great for the price. It’s currently exclusive to the Vault but I won’t be surprised if in the future we see this one as a single release.

The Smores Palette from I Heart Revolution is exclusive to the I Heart Revolution Vault, which you can get from Revolution Beauty or Superdrug for £72.

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Vault – Lipglosses Review & Swatches – Praline, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Cherry – Part 2

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Vault – Lipglosses Review & Swatches – Praline, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Cherry – Part 2

As part of the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Vault set we get three lipglosses. Two are exclusive to the vault with the third being already part of the I Heart Revolution range. They contain 2.5ml of product and have a 12-month shelf life once opened. They are cruelty-free but while the Salted Caramel gloss is Vegan I can’t guarantee the others are.

I-Heart-Revolution-Vault-Glosses

I was surprised at how much I like these. I am not a gloss person but these are not sticky at all. They, of course, won’t last once you start eating and they are all quite sheer. This, however, is a feature of all glosses, so I can’t count that against them. They are all quite heavily fragranced but that doesn’t last on the lips. However, if you’re allergic to fragrance this might cause an issue.

Salted Caramel

I-Heart-Revolution-Salted-Caramel-Lipgloss-Swatch

This is the one that’s available to buy separately for £3 from Superdrug or Revolution Beauty. It’s a light cool nude colour. This one has a salty smell. It looks good on me and I like it.

Praline

I-Heart-Revolution-Lipgloss-Praline-Swatch

As you can see Praline and Salted Caramel are pretty much the same colour but Praline is the pinker version. This one has a very sweet smell.

Chocolate Cherry

I-Heart-Revolution-Chocolate-Cherry-Lipgloss-Swatch

Chocolate Cherry smells like cherry and is the most opaque of them but also sheer. It looks very dark in the tube but goes a lovely shade on the lips.

All in all, I like these glosses. Do you like them?

The vault is still available from Superdrug or Revolution Beauty.

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Heart Gift Set – MakeUp Palettes Review & Swatches – Peanut Butter Cup & Red Velvet

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Heart Gift Set – MakeUp Palettes Review & Swatches – Peanut Butter Cup & Red Velvet

We’ve seen the face palettes, let’s take a look at the makeup pigment palettes. The name makeup pigment palettes tell me at least some of these are not eyeshadows, I think especially in the Red Velvet palette to get a bright colour.

The palettes are all in the same shape as the I Heart Revolution Chocolate range. They’ve got the melting chocolate palette design on the front. Normally these kinds of palettes retail for £8.99. There’s two in this set. The Peanut Butter Cup palette and the Red Velvet set.

Peanut Butter Cup

I-Heart-Revolution-Peanut-Butter-Cup-Palette

I-Heart-Revolution-Peanut-Butter-Cup-Palette-Inside

The Peanut Butter Cup palette smells a bit like peanut butter. I’m not fond of the smell but it doesn’t last on the face.

I-Heart-Revolution-Peanut-Butter-Cup-Palette-Swatch

As for the swatches, as you can see they’re quite strong colours. A few of them are quite stiff but they blend very well. It’s about on par with the usual Chocolate palettes. There’ of course a very warm overall tone to this palette but there are a few cooler undertones too. It’s of course very yellow toned overall.

I do like it but I’m struggling with ideas on how to use them all. Some of the colours are very similar so of course, will blend into one another but that can also be useful for a seamless gradient. Overall I like this one more than I thought I would.

Red Velvet

I-Heart-Revolution-Red-Velvet-Palette

I-Heart-Revolution-Red-Velvet-Palette-Inside

The Red Velvet palette was the one of the two I was the most excited for but the one that let me down the most. There are a fair few tones in here that are too close to the Peanut Butter Cup palette for my liking.  It’s a slightly cooler-toned palette.

I-Heart-Revolution-Red-Velvet-Palette-Swatches

Frosting is the first I’m going to mention because you can’t really see the two-toned nature on my arm. That flash of pink is what you can see. It’s a nice flash but can get lost. Beetroot is really quite patchy and better off as a transition shade or inner corner highlight.
I’ve found these shades to be harder to blend. They’re not unworkable but they’re not great either. If this was a single palette I’d say skip this one. As part of the set, I think it brings it down a bit.

Overall they’re not bad palettes, Red Velvet is not great though.

If you’d like it you can get yours online at Revolution or Superdrug.

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Heart Gift Set – Praline Chocolate Face Palette Review & Swatches

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Heart Gift Set – Praline Chocolate Face Palette Review & Swatches

Today we’re taking a look inside the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Heart gift set. Specifically the face products inside.

I-Heart-Revolution-Praline-Chocolate-Face-Palette-Outside

The Praline Chocolate Face palette has three different products in the one palette. There are a bronzer, a baked blush and three highlighters. In total there’s 18g of product and it’s all vegan.

I-Heart-Revolution-Praline-Chocolate-Face-Palette-Inside

As I said in my overview of the set, I think this particular palette isn’t the best because it tries to please everyone.

  • Temper is the bronzer and has nice pigmentation with a cool undertone. It can be built up too.
  • Ripple is the blush. It’s baked, which I’m personally not a fan of. it’s also not completely matte but compliments the other colours in this set.
  • Bon Bon is a peachy highlighter. It’s a little too dark for my skin but has a lovely shine.
  • Praline is a gold highlighter. It’s warm and very pigmented, definitely better for deeper skin tones.
  • Fondant is an icy white highlighter great for the wet look.

I-Heart-Revolution-Praline-Chocolate-Face-Palette-Swatches

They are as usual for Revolution highlighters really pigmented. The blush is less so but can be built up.

Next out of the package is the Chocolate Heart Bronzer.

I-Heart-Revolution-Chocolate-Heart-Bronzer

There’s 10g of baked bronzer in here. It’s much warmer than the bronzer in the Praline Chocolate palette and has golden shimmers in it. Of the two bronzers, I prefer this one as it really does warm the face. It is also much lighter (although a little buildable), so suited to the lighter end of the spectrum.

So what do you think of the face palettes? Have you asked Father Christmas for this set?

If you’d like it you can get yours online at Revolution or Superdrug.
