The Chocolate Vault is one of the Christmas Gifts from Revolution this year. At full price, it costs £80 but is currently reduced on Superdrugs site to £60. They’ve also appeared on Revolution Beauty‘s website costing £72. Revolution claims there is £100 worth of product inside.
So let’s take a quick look at what’s inside.
There are 6 Chocolate bar palettes, each regularly priced at £8.99 each. 2 highlighter palettes, each regularly priced at £6 each. Three lipglosses which retail around the £3-£4 price mark.
Now I’m sure if you’re like me you’re wondering how that adds up to £100. It’s actually closer to £78. According to the Revolution team, it was a misprint.
So that aside let’s look at what we have for our money.
First, we have 3 non-exclusive palettes in the form of the Lemon Drizzle palette, Macaroon Palette and Salted Caramel Palette. Of these three, Salted Caramel has been out the longest and the other two are very recent releases. Salted Caramel is also in the old design.
The 3 exclusive palettes are Smores Palette, Cranberries & Chocolate Palette and Strawberry Cheesecake palette. Smores is a warm brown palette, Cranberries and Chocolate is a warm-toned brown/red palette and Strawberry Cheesecake is a cooler toned pink palette.
Next, we have two exclusive face palettes. The Praline and Chocolate Strawberry palettes. One is a highlighter palette and the other a blush and contour palette. These seem to be more suited to the light to medium end of the spectrum but could work for darker skin tones too.
There are also 3 lip glosses in 3 different fragrances. Praline is a warm light brown colour with a sweet fragrance. Salted Caramel is a cool light brown colour with a salted chocolate fragrance and Chocolate Cherry is a berry red with a cherry fragrance.
So that’s the basics of the set. Do you like it? Are you asking for it for Christmas?
More in-depth reviews of the palettes and gloss will come in future posts. Stay tuned!
