Meet the newest of the Pocket Candy palettes from Lime Crime, the limited edition Birthday cake palette. It costs $34 from Lime Crime.
Inspired by 90s nostalgia, the Pocket Candy Palettes burst with poppy brights and almost-neutrals in a cutting-edge formula. This ain’t your momma’s vintage makeup!
The packaging is the same as the other Pocket Candy palette, so it’s very sturdy but this time it’s a got an amazing iridescent finish.
The inside is laid out just the same as the other palettes, with the brightest colour in the middle.
I found the pigmentation on these to be good, especially compared to the other palettes which often were lacking in colour. So without further ado let’s look at the swatches and colours.
- Glitz – warm mauve metallic this is not. Metallic yes but it’s not mauve in the pan or in the swatch!
- Cupcake – It’s described as a rosy brown matte and I’d say that’s true. It’s the matte sister to Glitz.
- Glaze – It’s definitely the golden pearl glow.
- Twinkle – Despite being described as ‘ballet pink with gold sparkle, there’s no pink to this and the sparkle is green.
- Party – is very much a seafoam green shimmer. It’s a really nice colour that doesn’t lose colour on the eye.
All in all, I really like this palette. I feel that Glitz and Cupcake are so similar in depth you can’t really tell the difference on the eye. The green sparkle in Twinkle means it goes very well with Party. I’ve no idea why Twinkle is described in the way it is.
This one is worth it for the contents and the oh so lovely iridescent packaging!
