MakeUp Academy Matte Perfect Foundation Fair Review

Matte Perfect Foundation from MakeUp Academy cost £2 in store and online. It’s described as a foundation that will give you flawless skin and will keep shine at bay all day. It comes in three shades, fair, medium and dark. Three shades? That’s terrible.

After seeing a swatch on their facebook page I thought it would be a good match but maybe too a touch too dark. Turns out I was wrong. It was very much too dark for my skin. As you can see from the swatch above, it not something I could wear at all. If you’re pale this is pretty much useless for you. They’re actually quite a narrow range of colours.

It doesn’t even give someone like me who suffers from oily skin, matte skin all day. I tested it out when I was at home. Sorry no pictures, if you want to see me looking like an oompa loompa you’ll have to wait for Halloween. Within two hours it had started to shine. By the end of the day I was my usual oil slick. It does however give good coverage on the skin.

Safe to say I’m not impressed with this product. It doesn’t keep your skin matt and the range is so very limited. If you’re on a budget and one of these shades suit your skin colour and you don’t really need a mattifying foundation go for it.
