Lime Crime Velvetines Lip Liners Review & Swatches – Minx, Petunia, Poison & Poppy

I decided it was time to bring in some more of the new Velvetines lip liners to my collection. I bought four new shades to use with my lipstick collection.

The liners cost $16 each from Lime Crime or £14.50 from Cult Beauty. They’re vegan and cruelty-free. They have 1.2g of product and 24-month shelf life from opening.

Everything you love about Velvetines — from its transfer-proof performance to its soft-as-a-rose-petal touch— now in a waterproof lip liner. Wrapped in the iconic Velvetines roses, our vegan and cruelty-free lip liner has the perfect velvety matte texture and clean-line precision to create the pout you dream about. Define and design, fake a fuller shape and hold the line on feathering. This pencil liner glides on creamy smooth and easy, then dries down to a matte finish that won’t smudge, budge or bleed.

The boxes are the same as the Velvetines, bright pink with red roses on them. Keeping with the theme. They’re cardboard so easily recycled.

Now clearly I like these because I bought four more. I find them very comfortable to wear and long-lasting. I have to say I didn’t really have any patchiness issues with these. However, let’s see each one individually.

Minx

Lime-Crime-Minx-Lip-LinerLime-Crime-Minx-Velvetine-Lip-Liner-SwatchMinx is greige nude. Described by Lime Crime as Mushroom Nude, it’s pretty much my perfect nude lip colour. I really like this colour and bought it to go under my nude lip glosses and liquid lipsticks. I find this one is very comfortable to wear and easy to apply. It doesn’t have any coverage issues.

Petunia

Lime-Crime-Petunia-Lip-LinerLime-Crime-Petunina-Velvetine-Liner-Lip-SwatchPetunia is a soft pink-toned purple
and is described by Lime Crime as Orchid Blush. The formula like the others is soft and easy to apply. It has little coverage issues and lasts very well. This pulls a lovely delicate pink shade on me, going well with my pinky nudes and lighter pink shades.  It goes really well with the new blush from Lime Crime called Petal.jpg.

Poison

Lime-Crime-Poison-Lip-LinerLime-Crime-Poison-Velvetine_lip-Liner-SwatchPoison is bright cool red, described by Lime Crime as Ruby Red. It’s your classic pin-up red with a blue undertone. Again no issues with coverage or wear time. This one will go well with all your classic red lipsticks and help extend wear time.

Poppy

Lime-Crime-Poppy-Lip-LinerLime-Crime-Poppy-Velvetine-Lip-Liner-SwatchPoppy is a true orange colour
and is described by Lime Crime as bright coral red. This one is the colour of poppies and is very good for either your orange-based reds or your orange lipsticks. Again, no coverage issues here and it’s just as long-lasting as the others.

I love the formula of the lip liners. they’re not drying and do extend your lipstick. I’d like them to be cheaper but to be honest, it takes me so long to use them up that the value peruse isn’t all that bad really.

If you’d like to get some they’re available on Lime Crime for $16 each or from UK suppliers at £14.50.
