Lime Crime Ghost Veil Lip Primer Review

Ghost Veil is the newest product from Lime Crime. It’s released on the 17th of June, so we have a sneak peek. I was lucky enough to get this with a purchase on Lime Crime’s website.

This will cost $16 from Lime Crime. It’s vegan and cruelty-free. They have 3.48 ml of product and a 12-month shelf life from opening.

Give your lips an invisible shield and set prime boundaries that ensure long-lasting quality. There are no blurred lines with Ghost Veil – just smooth gliding application and protection without creasing.

I managed to find it on the Lime Crime website already (if you use google you can too!) So it’s a lip primer, that helps prevent bleeding. Not an issue I have with a lot of my liquid lipsticks but it may be helpful.

Lime-Crime-Ghost-Veil-ApplicatorFirst impressions on opening my package were not great. The box is plain white, which given how cute Lime Crime’s packaging is left me feeling a little flat. The bottle itself is also clear and again I was a little disappointed. However, I do really like the sheer iridescent Ghost Veil on the clear bottle. It’s also not a big thing as what really matters is the product, I’m also not sure this is the final packaging.

The applicator is flat and grabs a lot of product. It’s very easy to apply and dries fairly fast. I don’t find it really does much. It’s supposed to extend the life of your lipstick and while the packaging says liquid lipstick, I find the only way that’s true is using it on normal cream lipstick.

I also don’t have an issue with lipsticks that bleed so I’ve not been able to test that out. I did have one (Black Velvet by Lime Crime) but I have used it up.

All in all, I’m a bit unfussed about this product. I don’t have the issues it’s supposed to help with. I don’t think I’ll be getting it again, it feels like an unnecessary step for the products I own.

How about you?

This will cost $16 from Lime Crime and will be officially released on the 17th of June.

Update October 2019: I’ve actually found myself using this product more than I expected I would. I’d actually really recommend it because it really does make your lipstick and liquid lipsticks stay on longer. It prevents bleeding and just makes it look better. I’ll definitely be repurchasing this when I run out of it.
